Before you enroll

Use your open enrollment window

Your Medigap open enrollment period lasts 6 months, starting the first month you are 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare Part B. During it, a company cannot deny you coverage or charge you more because of your health. After it, you may face medical underwriting.

Compare more than one carrier

The same benefits cost different amounts at different companies, and companies price by age, ZIP code and household differently. Always compare at least two or three.
