LifeSecure Accident Insurance

Cash Benefits for Life’s Unexpected Injuries

One simple plan. No confusing options. Get paid directly when an unexpected injury sends you for medical care—help cover deductibles, lost income, childcare, and anything else you need.

How LifeSecure Accident Insurance Works

Straightforward protection for the broken arms, ER visits, and ambulance rides nobody plans for.

When you or a covered family member experiences an unexpected injury and gets medical care, LifeSecure pays you a cash benefit based on the type of care you received. Benefit payments come straight to you—not the doctor or hospital—so you decide how to spend them.

There’s only one plan. Each covered service has a fixed dollar amount that adds up against your Annual Benefit Bank. You can use benefits for medical bills, lost wages, transportation, childcare, household help—anything you need while you recover.

What makes it different from a health plan:

  • Pays in addition to your major medical insurance
  • No network restrictions—use any doctor or hospital
  • No deductible to meet before benefits pay
  • Coverage applies on or off the job (24/7)

What’s Covered

Benefits are paid for a wide range of injury-related services. A few examples:

Type of Care What It Covers
Emergency Care Ambulance (ground & air), emergency room visits, urgent care visits
Diagnostic X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other medical diagnostic exams
Hospital & Surgery Hospital admission, daily inpatient confinement, surgery (inpatient and outpatient)
Fractures & Dislocations Broken bones, dislocated joints, casting and treatment
Follow-up Care Doctor and chiropractor visits, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy
Specific Injuries Burns, lacerations, eye injuries, dental injuries, concussions
Recovery Medical equipment (crutches, wheelchairs), prosthetic devices, transportation to treatment
Real-world example: A child breaks an arm playing soccer. The plan can pay benefits for the ambulance ride, ER visit, x-ray, fracture treatment, follow-up doctor visit, and physical therapy sessions—all in one claim. Total benefits paid often offset the entire out-of-pocket cost on a typical high-deductible health plan.

How Accident Insurance Helps With ACA Out-of-Pocket Costs

Marketplace plans still leave members paying deductible and coinsurance after an injury. Accident insurance can put cash back in the member’s hands fast.

Illustrative Scenario What the ACA Plan Leaves Behind How Accident Coverage Helps
Bronze plan + soccer injury
ER visit, x-ray, fracture treatment, and two follow-up visits.
A Bronze ACA member may still owe $1,200 to $2,000+ before the deductible is met. Accident insurance can pay cash for the ER, imaging, fracture, and follow-up treatment, helping offset a large share of the injury bill.
ACA plan + overnight accident admission
Broken leg, ambulance, surgery, and a short hospital stay.
The health plan may cover the catastrophic side of the claim, but the member can still get hit with a major deductible and hospital coinsurance. Accident benefits help with the injury-related charges, and many clients pair it with hospital indemnity for the inpatient stay itself.
Example: If an ACA member owes $1,800 after an ER fracture claim, and the accident policy pays $900 in cash benefits, the member’s net out-of-pocket drops to about $900. That is the value of using accident coverage to soften the deductible hit.

Illustrative example only. Actual accident benefits depend on the LifeSecure schedule of benefits and the medical services received.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a waiting period before coverage starts?

Coverage typically begins on the policy effective date you choose at enrollment—most plans have no waiting period for accidents. Specific waiting periods, if any, are noted in your Outline of Coverage.

Does this replace my major medical insurance?

No. Accident insurance is supplemental coverage—it pays cash benefits in addition to whatever your health insurance pays. You should still have major medical coverage (employer plan, marketplace plan, Medicare, etc.).

Are pre-existing conditions excluded?

Accident plans cover injuries from new, unexpected accidents. Injuries that happened before your policy started would generally not be covered. Most age-eligible applicants are approved without medical underwriting.

What ages can apply?

Most LifeSecure accident plans accept applicants from age 18 to 74 for primary coverage. The policy is guaranteed renewable to age 85, with eligible dependents (spouse and children) covered under family tiers.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Most plans are guaranteed renewable—you can cancel at any time, and LifeSecure cannot cancel your coverage as long as you pay premiums on time.

Are sports injuries covered?

Yes—recreational and amateur sports injuries are typically covered. Some plans exclude organized professional sports or specific high-risk activities; details are in the Outline of Coverage.
